As experienced employees retired and the business expanded, Fred Weber’s leadership realized that many rising managers lacked the leadership skills needed to guide teams and handle new responsibilities. The organization needed a way to quickly develop internal talent rather than relying on external hires. The goal was to give managers a clear process for leading people, resolving issues, and driving performance.
Creating a Shared Leadership Framework
Dale Carnegie’s Leadership Training for Managers provided a structured approach to working with people and developing a personal leadership style. The course brought individuals from across the company together in one classroom, where they were encouraged to communicate, collaborate, and learn from each other. This shared learning environment broke down silos and helped participants discover new business opportunities simply by being “at the same table” together. Within one year, 76 existing employees stepped into managerial roles, showing the depth of talent that had been unlocked.
